Florida metal powerhouse Underoath rocked the House of Blues on a chill Monday night, on the Boston stop of their Voyeurist tour. The energy was raw as you walked through the doors, the crowd starting to get bigger earlier in the evening. Those who arrived early were in for a solid treat.
Starting off was Stray From The Path, grabbing the audience right off the bat. The band took no prisoners, bringing in an aggressive, in your face performance. It was the perfect start to an evening that was barely warming up.
It was time for Virginia born Bad Omens, taking over the stage in darkness. The powerful presence of lead singer Noah Sebastian was felt as he crawled out of the shadows. The band gave a much darker, yet equally electrifying performance, as the venue started to get more and more crowded.
The energy in the room was intense and heavy, the perfect setup for Canadian metal band Spiritbox. Courtney LaPlante’s powerful vocals soothe you and attack you at the same time, and the audience certainly connected with the mesmerizing vibe that Spiritbox evokes. With a very distinct sound, there wasn’t a single person in there that was not fully engaged, wanting more.
The stage was set for Underoath to take over, the anticipation growing more and more intense by the minute. There’s a sense of deep love and appreciation that comes from the band’s massive fanbase, and it was evident as they erupted onto the stage. The performance was explosive, but also emotional in a way. Through Underoath’s ups and downs, the connection within the band and the fans is very much there. Make sure to check out their latest album, Voyeurist, and experience them in a city near you.
