THE GREETING COMMITTEE - BOSTON, MA 7.17.24

Coverage by Kimmy Curry

The Greeting Committee returned to Cambridge's Sinclair last week on their latest tour, fresh off the June release of their third album, Everybody's Gone And I Know I'm The Cause.
The multitalented band is fronted by singer/songwriter Addie Sartino and was started in Kansas City, Missouri. Sartino's gorgeous voice was a standout aspect of the Greeting Committee's live show; her harmonious but controlled belting perfectly suited to the band's indie-rock/ jazz fusion sound. The band played many songs from their newest album, including the first single "popmoneyhits" and their collaboration with Flipturn called, “Where’d All My Friends Go?”.
The recent album touches on more existential themes than the band's previous work, while still containing the group's signature wistful romanticism. The audience couldn’t resist dancing to the energetic performance and seemed to be full of long-time fans singing the words of the band's oldest songs, including their 2014 breakout single, "Hands Down".
