REMI WOLF - NYC, NY 10.2.24

Coverage by Kimmy Curry

Remi Wolf's third and final show at the King's Theatre in Brooklyn last week was a night of pop perfection and unapologetically letting loose. Remi's Big Ideas tour is off to a great start, as she travels across the US playing songs from her latest album of the same name, that was released earlier this year. Between songs, the singer told the audience that her sophomore album was mostly written on the road while on a two-year tour promoting her first album, Juno. According to Remi, the album is a personal collection of stories and experiences she had around the country and she feels a deep connection with her audience when she plays these songs. Towards the beginning of her set she also led the sold-out crowd in a short breathing exercise with the goal of having the audience release their worries and get ready to enjoy her show to the fullest. Unapologetic enjoyment and having big emotions are major themes on Wolf's latest record and is especially expressed on tracks such as “Toro.” In addition to performing songs from her two records, Remi also played a jubilant cover of Rascal Flatt's "Life is a Highway", saying that it felt fitting to play as she also sings about her time on the road and partying.

Towards the end of her show Remi said that many of her songs off Big Ideas were written in New York, adding that she feels inspired by the people there. The whole show was full of joyful  dancing, shaking and singing, perfect to close out her three-show run in Brooklyn!
