OSEES / MR. ELEVATOR 9.22.21

Words and Photos By Adam Gerhold

On the halfway point of tour, Osees hit The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA, with a wild sold out performance with support from opening act, Mr. Elevator. Mr. Elevator jammed and grooved with a mix of 60’s and 70’s psych bands sprinkled with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. This was my first time experiencing the band and they were really captivating and got the blood pumping for the intensity that would soon follow.

From the first note until the very last ring, the stage presence and intensity of Osees was turned up to the limit. The band, fully set up with two full drum kits pushed to the front of the stage, blistered through a set with songs from at least past 8 records, and never came up for air. The constant manic heartbeat of the duel drums and John Dwyer’s explosive presence on guitar and the mic, lunging forwards and back, and wide eyed and grinning under an impressive mustache, is an amazing sight to see, hear, and feel. The energy from the band was thrown back and forth to the crowd and back. Everyone was completely immersed in the moment, dancing, singing, jumping, sweating… it was a good night.

Do not miss the remaining tour dates. Please. Trust me.
