THE REGRETTES 3.4.2022

South Burlington was about the halfway point of The Regrettes “Get The F*ck Out Of LA” tour. This tour is especially special because it is the group's first tour in three years due to the Covid pandemic. On the date of this show, the band also announced the release date of their junior album “Further Joy,” as well as their next tour “ Further Joy Tour.”
I live in Maine, which is around four and a half hours away from the venue. That should give you a slight idea of how special this band is. I got to the venue about an hour and a half before doors opened, and there was already a small line starting to form (mind you, it was about 30 degrees as well as some good ole wind chill in there.) Overhearing conversations the surrounding fans were having made the concert seem to be even more magical. As the time got closer, the line grew in size. I kept on walking from my spot to the corner and every time I did that the line just kept getting longer!
Once the doors opened and we were allowed into the venue, the floor slowly started to flood with people. As soon as the band got on stage, they overtook the space with thrilling and upbeat energy. Each member of the band made eye contact with the audience and was always moving with the music. Lydia Night ( the frontwoman of the band) is a very impressive young musician. Only being 21 years old she is a seasoned vet when it comes to touring. She’s been performing live ever since she was 15 years old. As an artist myself, It’s a very inspiring feeling to see a group of people in their twenties working together to put on a hell of a show. Because in this industry of entertainment, team work is everything. They’re one of the most energetic groups I’ve seen that never seemed to grow tired throughout their set.
After the hour and a half went by of their performance I was disappointed it was over because it felt like only 20 minutes. I’ve been wanting to see The Regrettes for the last few years so the fact that I got to see them perform, not even mentioning TAKING THEIR PHOTOS?! Will surely be a memory I hold onto for awhile.
