SMALL POND / KATE POSSI 1.26.2023

Photos and Words By Adam W Gerhold

Over the years I have seen a lot of bands. I’ve watched a lot of promising local bands come and go. I’ve been surprised, excited, destroyed, and let down over and over. I guess this is just the way it goes sometimes. But every so often a band comes out of what seems like nowhere, and really blows me away. Enter: Small Pond. The four piece made up of some of the sweetest and talented people I have had the privilege of meeting and calling friends. I have seen them play a handful of times now and I don’t say this lightly, but this band does something to me. I feel an excitement about them that I have rarely ever felt. There is something special here. The musicianship, the overwhelming feeling of humility and kindness that resonates off them, Molly McDevitt’s unmatched song writing and vocal performances, this band really has it all. I’m not sure how to really put it all into words so just go see them and take a peak at the pics below.

Be sure to also check out Kate Possi. Another incredible local artist who, without question, destroys me. Beautiful.
