SHOW ME THE BODY / JESUS PIECE / SCOWL / ZULU / TRIPP JONES 3.21.2023
Photos and Words By Adam W Gerhold
Show Me The Body pummeled their way into the Paradise Rock Club in Boston with Jesus Piece, Scowl, Zulu, and Tripp Jones in toe for the World War Tour.
This is the most fitting name for a tour because the bands and the fans went to war.
After the dark hip hop stylings of Tripp Jones, Black Powerviolence Excellence, Zulu, erupted onto the stage and the crowd went off. The photo pit at the Paradise is off limits even for photographers (don’t get me started) but the space from the stage and the barricade played no role in preventing stage divers. People were diving left and right, overhead, circle pits sprouted behind me and all over. Zulu was wild. So wild that the staff at Paradise decided to just say fuck it, moved the barricade to the stage, and just allowed the mayhem to commence in a… safer??? way… (I only lost an earplug.)
Scowl followed Zulu and the insanity was pushed another level. Scowl rules. Plain and simple. If you don’t know, I don’t know what to tell you.
Jesus Piece continued the assault and were out of control. The crowd was spinning, the stage was crumbling, and the monstrosity that is Jesus Piece was at the helm.
By the time Show Me The Body came on, the stage was in pieces. This was war. This is war. Even though the sold out Paradise crowd was non-stop, the level was maxxxed out and broken off. The place exploded with bodies flying everywhere and the band going absolutely ballistic. This was the most high energy, wild, and unhinged show I have been to in a bit. I love it! Don’t sleep you dorks!
