SARAH KINSLEY - NYC, NY 10.16.24
Coverage by Kimmy Curry
For the final stop on the North American leg of her Escaper tour, singer and multi-instrumentalist Sarah Kinsley played a sold-out show at Webster Hall in New York City. Over the past few years, the musician has been met with growing success and praise for her beautiful musical style that combines her classical training with her unique pop music sensibility. Kinsley has been releasing music for the past five years, and her 2021 single "The King" launched her to widespread audiences through social media success. Her debut record, Escaper, was finally released this year and she embarked on a world tour this fall to perform her discography for her fans. She told the sold-out crowd at Webster Hall that she would never have imagined she would be playing at this venue, and expressed gratitude for the success of her tour. Kinsley's debut album is the most refined her sound has ever been; the harmony between heartfelt poetic lyrics and her classical vocal training paired with the guitar and drum-heavy instrumentation makes for a unique and timeless album. The opening track on the album "The Last Time We Ever Meet Again" is a triumphant empowered ode to closure that filled Webster Hall with a victorious ecstasy as Kinsley danced and spun across the stage in a metallic gown.
Sarah Kinsley's enchanting voice and dazzling presence in the East Village ballroom made the final stop of her North American tour a perfect night for everyone involved. She continues her Escaper Tour in Europe next month.
