METZ / KOWLOON WALLED CITY / DEAF CLUB 12.8.2022

Photos and Words By Adam W Gerhold

What a way to end 2022 with my last shoot of the year being the LA stop on METZ’s self titled 10 Year Anniversary Tour. The show was more than just an excellent curation of music. I got to meet a few photographers that I followed on socials, helped a fellow human out by spotting them $20 for parking since the weird ATM’s we were trying to hustle money from were not playing ball, and came home to a burrito from my favorite local spot. W in the chat please.

Also a fun note, the last time I photographed METZ was last December in Boston. It was fun seeing them one one end of the country and then the other a year later.

The show was stacked and I was equally stoked to see each band. I missed Deaf Club when they played with Melt Banana last month, and I have loved Kowloon Walled City since stumbling upon, Gambling On The Richter Scale, at a record store in Salem, NH years ago. And METZ just rules. Not to mention they are one of the loudest bands I have ever seen live.

By now you must know my “reviews” are never really reviews at all but just ramblings. This will be no different. In fact, it might be over now. Did I say everything I needed to?

….

You know what you get when you come here.

See y’all in 2023.
