KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD - BOSTON, MA 8.19.24

Coverage by Adam W Gerhold

“Just float along, and fill your lungs.”
And as we watched NY’s, Geese, rip through an incredible set against an ominous and stormy backdrop of oncoming weather, that is exactly what we did - float along and hold our breath with hopes that the distant but very visible strikes of lightning would stay far enough away, and long enough, for us to be covered in the sweet nectar of the Aussie gods, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Without delay, and amongst (sometimes heavy) raindrops, King Gizz took the stage huddled around a smorgasbord of keyboards, synths, mixers, wires, buttons, and Gizz knows what else! They opened the set with “Gondii” and “Change,” before a taking a maniacal rip through “Supercell” and an unexpected detour to“Perihelion” which was accompanied by a fan from the crowd who was attending and requesting to play the song with the Gizz in memory of his late best friend, Joey.

As the Gizzverse began pouring over the barricade, surfing to the front, and as the rain ceased from falling from the sky, King Gizz soared through over 2 hours of shredding tracks including “Hell,” “Gilla Monster,” Road Train,” and the live debut of, “Flight b741.”
King Gizz is live streaming the entire tour, so if you are unlucky enough to miss them on this run, at least you can rage in your room, nerd.
